That said, I don't hate it. I really like the simple, clean lines. Even if it does look like a Hostess donut box.

I am disappointed, though. Deep down, I knew they wouldn't pay for new art work, but still, I'd hoped, y'know? And then I'd thought, well, if they do bastardize old cover art, please, oh, god, please let it be from S3. That season's art was the highlight of all art for me. Brian's in the forefront looking all sexy/emo with his perfect hair, Justin's right over Brian's shoulder where he should be with his perfect hair. Er, yeah, the hair is important. Michael and his family on Brian's other side, the girls waaay in the back. All perfect placement! Add in the dramatic black with the blue disco ball/Babylon-esque background and it's quintessential QaF. And black is easier to keep unscuffed kthx. :P

But, hey, this one doesn't make my eyes bleed! And really, that's not something you can take for granted when dealing with our big ole gay show's packaging. So, yay!

• The one review there made me WTF all over the place. Strange sentence structure and character-misinformation aside (Ted was out to his mom, kthx), the fact that Brandon got mentioned and Justin doesn't... I have no words, people. Also None of the seasons really have `defining storylines,'... wait, what? SO. MUCH. WTF. Considering it's "Mikey" with no Justin around, I'm tempted to say a B/M fan wrote that. Not that I am. Just that I'm tempted. Tempt, tempt, tempted.

• There must be a nearby fire because my entire house is lit with this eerie yellow glow. It feels like aliens are invading right outside. I'm pretty sure I shouldn't be as exhilarated as I actually am. I keep wanting to jump into rooms and battle creepy tall aliens that somehow figured out space travel but not how to open doors a la Signs. *strikes a Miss Piggy karate stance* FEAR ME, ALIENZ!

DVD Empire has the boxed set listed! No box art or extras listed yet. AND THERE WAS MUCH DISAPPOINTMENT TO BE HAD AT THAT KTHX. Um, what else. Still a Nov 20 release date. There are 28 DVDs. Scott had mentioned 29, but he wasn't sure. So either he was one off or that extra DVD is the bonus stuff. All the DVDs we have now add up to... Crap. *does math* 26. I think. Someone double-check me, math is evol. I'll be off daydreaming about 2-3 whole DVDs of extras. I live in a pretty, pretty rainbow world.

The price? *drum roll* Listed: $250 Sale: $198.27. I had guessed around $200-300.

August 6, 2007: Yes, all of those rumors about a QAF reunion are true! Here's the scoop direct from Scott:

Showtime® is putting out all 5 seasons in one ginormous Box set (29 Discs I believe) in time for X-mas. As a special incentive for people to buy it the shot a Special Feature reunion lunch. The format was very much like Jon Favreau's "Dinner with 5" and was hosted by the wonderful comedian/super fan Ant. Everyone was there except Gale (who had a family emergency) and Randy (who is working up at the Berkshire Theatre Festival) and it was a lot of fun.

There is no confirmed release date yet, except that it will be sometime in November. This site will be updated when more information is available.

Um, so, that's the only extra? WHY FOR YOU SO LAZY/CHEAP, COWLIP. :| :| :| Maybe that's the only one Scott knows about/was a part of and there really is more. *hopeful* What gets me is the reunion alone would indeed have been enough incentive to buy this for most fans if G/R had been there. Completely understand about Gale and, really, not like they ever expected Randy to show, so no need to clear their schedule around his plays, but STILL.

Also, I heart Scott. Just saying. ;)

Sunday, aka My Day Of Being Old Like Ted was a rousing success (mmmmm, cupcakes), made all the more wonderful because of my kick-ass flist. Aw, flist! Thank you so much for all the b-day wishes and beautiful graphics and super-fun e-cards (that I just discovered today in my spam folder. Grrr, AOL, grrr.) and pastede on hedz (both the sweet beyond words and hilariously traumatizing) and presents of gorgeous proportions and my v. own deliciously cracky ditty of loff and all the virtual prezzies! Even Gale and Randy dropped by. Much to Randy's annoyance aldfkjas. That made me peepee. (Anon, I heart you, whoever you are!)

So, you may find yourself asking, what does a Ree do on her Day Of Being Old Like Ted? She... does nothing! Glorious, glorious nothing! Mmmmm. I got to be lazy all day and IT WAS A BEAUTIFUL THING. Mostly spent it crashed out on the couch with an almost embarrassing amount of Chinese take-out boxes and QaF S1. It's been so long since I've had the time to just sit and wallow in the eps, one after another (after another after another...). More on that later. ;) Suffice to say, I am in no danger of falling out of love with this show. Ever. Brian was so fucked from day one. Also, Justin running will never not be funny.

Plus because awhile ago I was all "I am going to watch the finale in August!!!" and wanted to marathon all the seasons leading up to it. Without actually, y'know, knowing what day that was. I checked. It's the 7th. Uh, that is only seven days away. SEVEN DAYS. For some reason I was thinking the finale had been later in the month. Yeah, it wasn't aklsjdlkj.

Aaaaand cue my frantic Qafathon, woot! Not sure if I'm gonna get through all the seasons by then, but I'm gonna have fun trying. Must do my best not to get waylaid at the cancer arc, however. I tend to rewatch those eps on a loop and forget to move on.
