golden globes. and i don't just mean salma's boobs.
I reallyreally want to unzip nearly every single dress and let the poor women breathe. Yes, is time for annual Globes show picspam! I missed you last year, Globes. <3

Er, keep in mind that I was a winner that night myself. And by winner, I mean in the speshul sense, cos I taped the wrong channel and missed it. So I'm basing my fashion sense solely on pics and not how things looked on teevee, with different angles, while sitting, with movement, etc.

The Good

My absolute favorite. ♥ Classic perfection. Oh, Kate. I so girlcrush you.

Runner-up, omg. Minus the criss-cross straps. The dress didn't really need 'em. But still, gorgeous. Her hair, make-up, even her full-length pose!

She looked radiant! And her hair, so purdy.

Stop being so gorgeous, Angie. I know she gets flack for shunning color and makeup at awards shows, but it's not like she needs either.

LOVE! Hee, her dorky pose. Oh, Tina. ♥

THAT NECKLACE OMG. I love all this so much. The style and color of her dress against her skin (and with that necklace!!!) is striking. Of course, that bow could fall off and I wouldn't cry. Hmn, longer I stare at it, more it's growing on me.

Lovely, lovely. And her earrings! ♥

There is no denying those are pretty boobies. I love the waist on this dress. And everything else.

And then the ones no doubt torn apart by fashionistas, but that I still loved:

The color is so FREAKING GORGEOUS on her, I'm willing to ignore how that dress is one fold away from being origami with pockets.

So cute! Not so much the dress, but the color. It's gorgeous against her skin, and the close-up is amazing.

Okay, I so didn't like this one at first. Cos, wow, there are some photos out there of this one that make Drew look like she's at a 1950's prom and just crawled outta the back of some guy's car minus her underwear. But here you can tell the old-time glamour look she was going for. ♥

Her shoes, omg. So much love. I just know that flower is gonna get flack, but I loved it all. So Heidi! Of course, helps that she's 100ft tall. That flower on America would covered her entire body adlkja.

I couldn't decide on this one for the longest time. Maybe the ruffle pirate shirt is throwing me, hmn. Still, I thought she looked purdy and classic. Maybe this one looks better in this photo than it did on teevee? Her expression is killing me here, tho.

So cute, if a bit older looking for her. I do think it would looked better had the underneath been a solid cream.

The Bad

The ruffles pointing to her vajayjay is so wrong. O.o Add in all the jewelry and folds and it's just too much, bleh.

Apparently everyone loved this one? Maybe it looked better on TV. Cos, um. Her hair is driving me nuts.

Ditto with this one. The color is too dark for her, imo, but, wow, the cut still looked lovely.

I feel sorry for her boobies. But her make-up/hair is GORGEOUS.

I'm so sick of that dress style, bleh. Pretty color on her, at least.

Did this look better on tv? Everyone is loving and I'm like, ew. Also, Kevin's face is melting off. D:

WHY MAGGIE WHY.

:/

The Ugly

NO WORDS, PPL, NO WORDS.

... O.o

Can't.look.away. The color actually works. If she didn't look like she slept in it.

Am sad. She's so pretty, has a killer body, and yet we get... this. :*(

I.. what.. *cries*.

Too much dress. I still love you, Christina. :X

I... don't usually think chenille for gowns. Bedspreads, yes!

Who has done this horror to you, Jenna? WHO?

The babies sucked her fashion mojo dry apparently. :((

The Guys

Guy photos were harder to find. Woe.

Cool McCool. His shoes! ♥

It's been over a decade and I still ship them. Oh, yeah, and Leo's tux looks v. nice here. *cough*

Just because it's Gerard, rrrowr.

Guys have it so easy. Throw on a tux and done. The aviators are making it, heh. Angie, straighten his tie. It's driving me nutty.

Tom's wee and crazy, but he does dress up nice. Like a tiny wee crazy Ken doll.

okay...i thought the TOP hald of Maggie's dress was really pretty, love the print and the color. The silhouette however is just WRONGGGG. The bottom is way too skinny for the top of the dress.

Sandra Bullock could be wrapped in banana peels and beef jerky and I would love her regardless.

Maggie is like the Bjork or acting. She either looks like a knock out or a Rorschach test she also has this lost old lady vibe about her that makes her unappealing to me.

Tom Cruise will always be the little Thetan that could in my book. I have such ire for this man's brain.

I just don't know what Renee was thinking in that... dress.
I'm not sure why they won't leave Drew's hair alone. She teased the crap out of it. Get over it, people. I loved your caption though!
Is Mickey Rourke even human anymore? His chin scares me.
I was worried about RDJr, he looked a bit smashed in one pic I saw. *so doesn't want him to fail*

Drew's hair stylist needs to be shot. That hair was teased so hard it was crying.

I was actually surprised Mickey didn't look as bad as I'd seen him looking in the movie ad! Still, yeah. Scary. Poor guy. I remember when he usta be hot shit.

Much love for the wee Cruise. I will always ♥ him.

As much as I loathe anything or anyone relating to Gossip Girls (GASP!YES), Blake Lively looked gorgeous on TV. That dress really was pretty on her and she looked so nice.

Renee looks like a poodle that got attacked by a rottweiler. I honestly do not understand some people. I can get how some dresses/styles can be kind of iffy and really up to the individual, but that was just so much epic fail on so many accounts -- I just don't get it. O.o

Leo/Kate was the most gorgeous couple there. Utterly stunning. And they're not even a couple. Kind of depressing there. But oh so classically beautiful. ^^

Downey Jr. with his shoes?! SO MUCH LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did NOT see his shoes on Tv. Ohmygosh, he just automatically wins. I can not even express to you how insanely excited I am for his Sherlock Holmes movie, liek ohmygosh. Hee. I love Holmes and I LOVE Downey Jr. and put together? AJHGAKJHAGKAGH.

Kyra Sedgewick did look better on TV. I can't agree on Angelina, I don't like the color, the cut, the tattoos, any of it.
Rumer's dress looks better in pictures than it did on TV. I so had to laugh when Demi publicly chastised her for "hunching" and told her to throw her shoulders back. I've wanted to say that to her myself. She slumps, her boobies hang low, and she doesn't wear dresses with tops so there is this whole expanse of nothingness between her neck and the low-slung boobies. Rumer's a fashion disaster and Demi looked so good! but I was amazed that Demi actually did that, even if it made me laugh.
Gerard looked hot, but I missed him on the show. I was watching DH or something.

Word. Rumor woulda looked 1000x's better if the dress had a front to it. Just made her boobies look so weird and loooow. I read about Demi's "hunching" advice aldkja. I bet Rumer was all :| :| :| being called out on tv like that. She waited a year to do that!

I liked Winslet's dress a lot too, but I can't decide whether the belt would have been better if it was white instead of black with a matte finish. It would have been a nice, dramatic contrast.

Red is a good colour on Kyra Sedgwick, but omg the top of her dress makes her look like she has drooping boobs. It looks like it's a little too big for her because the whole damn thing is kinda, hanging off her.

Anna is skinny as hell, probably skinnier this year. No doubt some of it is stress-related due to her ex. Anyway, the dress--I agree with you--is so overpowering and overwhelming. It looks like it's swallowing her up.

Applegate's outfit was a bit lacking in the top department, and that's totally the dress' fault. She should have picked a different one that would...conform to her new figure better, at least until she gets the new implants she said she was gonna get.

Jennifer Morrison and Mary-Louise Parker wore virtually identical dresses, but Mary-Louise worked it better IMO. Jennifer shouldn't have gone down the bottle blonde path, because it totally lent to a lack of contrast resulting in the dress giving her a washed out look; whereas Mary-Louise's dark brunette locks contrasting against her pale skin totally helped balance out the dress' dramatic dark tone.

Rachel Griffith's dress? OMG, right?! It was wrinkled! And way too much material, not very figure-flattering at all.

I'm with you on Jenna's dress. :| :| :| it totally made me think of that kooky old lady stuck in the '40s who smokes cigs on an old-fashioned holder and lives in a run-down mansion with a Persian.

Also, um, Glenn Close's weird pantsuit thing? THE HORROR.

Know what's an even bigger horror than Close's outfit? The one Robert Downey Jr.'s wife wore! Dear god, the damn thing looked like it was made out of hefty bags!

I dislike Brad Pitt's mustache. It's too...douchebag-y.

However, there is something that looks even worse than Pitt's mustache, and that's Zac Efron's little Mustache that Could. It's like, um, no, Zac, dear, red carpet nights don't warrant in-between 'aches. It's either a mustache or none. So, attempt to grow one on a different day, kthx.

Is it just me or does the skinny tie trend continue to be? I do not know if I love it or not, but sometimes I wish the men were allowed to be a bit more creative with their fashion styles. :| It's totally unfair. So very sexist omg. And no, we're not talking Mickey Rourke creative because we both know that was just v. v. wrong.

Also, I did not know it was possible for a person to look short in a photo, but kudos, Tom Cruise. There should have been an additional subtitle underneath the pic: Actual Size.

Frank Langella and Jake Gyllenhaal looked verrrrry dapper. My lions totally purred and roared omg. For Jake, of course. Frank would be pushing it just a tad.

Phew, I think those are my thoughts on everything. ;)

P.S. My apologies in advance for the super-long commentary omg.

Renee Zellwegger needs a fashion consultant. If she already has one, she needs to fire that person and find a new one. 'Course I think she's just homely as anything, anyway, so I rarely think she looks good.

Cameron Diaz is another woman I think is unattractive and I don't understand the fuss about her looks. She's totally plain and average, IMO. Funny actress, though.

What struck me was that I didn't know who so many of the people were.

The Cyrus family is just about the tackiest bunch going. I saw them interviewed on the E! show and yeah. Tacky.

I think Kevin Bacon and Renee use the same hairdresser.

Salma Hayeck's dress was beautiful. Sigourney Weaver looked very pretty during her presentation of some award.

I don't know why anyone chooses a dress with a lot of train since it gets stepped on all night. That's one of my favorite things to watch for: the walk and dip when someone's on your train and you can't go forward! ;DD

ps: didja see getithere this evening? oy.

Word. I do think Renee and Cameron are both cute, but, wow. That was not the way to be daring, girls.

There were a few I'd find pictures for and be all, "...who?" Then read the caption of whatever tv show/movie they're in and be all, "Oh. Next!"

Salma was a hottie. And I must find pics of Sigourney. I heart her. I didn't know she would be there. <3

The dress train confuses me so much. It's great for standing for pics for a few minutes and then must be a PITA after. I really wonder how these women sit through the ceremony for hours. :\ Though anytime someone gets stepped on and they get jerked backwarks = FTW, haha!

OMG, haven't checked comms yet, hee, will asap! :D
