teevee time - monday
I'm supposed to be sleeping, but I have this sinus headache from hell and laying down is pounding torture, ow. So teevee talk it is! I've been way behind on my watching, but, lookout, I'm starting to catch up. This was originally gonna be one giant teevee post of all the shows I've been watching, but I forgot the simple fact that I tend to babble like whoa and it got too long with just these three shows and I kinda intimidated myself, heh. So I decided to break it up by day.

But first, a couple teevee topics:

Writer's Strike

Of course, I get all caught up and ready to talk about shows right when the strike happens. *facepalm* And this is one of the best teevee seasons, too. WOE. :(( All the solidarity is awesomecakes and makes me proud of the actors and everyone supporting them blah blah blah. And eternally grateful we never had a strike during QaF, cos, omg. My trauma would've been catastrophic. Also, calling the strike "a tragedy" gives me an eye tick. National disasters are tragedies. A writer's strike just reallyreally sucks monkeyballs. So much so I wanna curl up and rock back and forth on my couch at the news of seasons ending early -- or for shows like 24 and Lost, never even starting. *sob* But a tragedy? Yeah, not so much.

Green Week

I'll go to hell for this, but I'm so glad that's over. :| I love the planet as much as the next person, but my teevee shows are for escapism and nothing takes you out of a story like a character suddenly waxing poetic about greenhouses during a spy raid.

That said, I must give My Name is Earl and 30 Rock the comedy awards for funniest usage of the PSAs. Earl's told to add a green message to his "Stay Straight" show for kids and responds, "But, sir, it doesn't fit with the show. I'd just be wedging it in." ALDKFJASLKJ. And then on 30 Rock, Jack hires "superhero" Greenzo (ROSS GELLAR I'VE MISSED YOU OMG!!!) to give GE a good name, then having Al Gore run off to save a whale in trouble aldjfa.

And for the best dramatic appearance: Life. Charlie wanting to buy a solar farm and turning his face up into the sunlight was perfection for his character. And made me tear up, actually. But I know that's more about me loving Charlie than loving being green.

Like I said, hell.

Okay, onto Mondays:

Chuck

Hi, still could not love my corny spy show more. ♥ ♥ ♥

Damn, I can only find my notes from the last two eps. Hmph. I do remember I LOVED the Sizzling Shrimp ep. Chuck singing in the car during the stake-out aldkjfas. But the Standford ep is my favorite so far. Also, I'm liking Sarah MUCH more than from the pilot, yay!

• Chuck/Bryce, omg. I'm just saying. It was college. There could've been some experimenting during late night study sessions.

• Employee!Anna's back! I missed her the last couple eps. I do want to send out a search party for her lezzie vibe tho. It seems to have disappeared. :( And I'm wondering what was up with her make-up this ep. It was ... odd. And not the usual goth odd coolness. But just odd. Like, caked on odd. Sorry, am obsessing. It was really bugging me.

• Cpt Awesome is still freakin' AWESOME. His scenes always make me giddy aldfkja.

• Um. Where did the librarian go after they spot Archer!guy? He was there giving Chuck a hard time, then there's Sarah's "Chuck, run!" and in the same shot, librarian guy is g o n e. There was no time for him to move. *blink*

• The visual of the chairs moving as Chuck crawls through them, grunting and mumbling aldkja. ♥

• LOVED Chuck activating all the agents around campus. "Aren't you in Econ with me?" HEE.

• No way Sarah or Casey would've let Chuck walk away from campus with that disc still in his possession. Nope.

• Bryce tried to save Chuck from the FBI life! And in the end, he was the one he trusted most with his list. I just knew Bryce wasn't as horrible as we were led to believe. Plus Sarah adored him and she has good taste.

• Hey, just realized Bryce was a football jock. Just like Cpt. Awesome alfdka. That would explain a lot in how Chuck relates to Derek. Not to mention the fact that Ellie and Chuck have the same taste in men. :P

• Hmn. Y'know, I still don't think Bryce is dead. We saw him shot, but that's all. I wouldn't be surprised if he shows up somehow in the finale.

And now I present to you with CHUCK DIALOGUE GREATNESS:

HARRY: Because you're soft like pudding. *pokes Morgan's belly and licks finger*
MORGAN: :|

CHUCK: You didn't offer to kill Harry for Anna, did you?
CASEY: Why? You want me to kill him? :D :D :D

SARAH: Maybe you should stay here.
CHUCK: Yeah, cos that always works out.

SPYGUY: If there's a real danger, try 'Are you coming to the toga party?'
CHUCK: A real code phrase! I like it!

CHUCK (seeing Casey's all-black outfit for the game): Nice way to blend in. Who are you rooting for? Death?

Heroes

Every season, I have an abusive teevee boyfriend. Last year it was Gilmore Girls. This season = Heroes. Constantly disappointing, but I still love it. If anyone tried to make me leave, I'd just call it to meet at the bus station and we'd run off like Claire to a boring town and be boring together forevers. That said, doesn't mean I won't meet my friends at the mall and talk smack about it over corn dogs and lemonade, kthx. And it's like its dad overheard us about how much of a bitch it's being cos he's gonna fix it! :D Even the last few eps have been 348374615 times better, so I'm a happy girl again.

• Let's just get this outta the way right off, heh. PETER YAY! ELLE YAY! KENSEI YAY! I've so missed Kristen and David on my tv. ♥

• Monica's learning superpower is awesome, but she bores me TO DEATH. I'm not even sure how that's possible. I don't care about her history, though I do like how she's always felt she was meant for bigger things because the others have experienced that as well and the continuity makes me do a little jig. I just didn't need 387146459 eps to cover it kthx.

• Ditto with the Twins. *headdesk* Not even Sylar made them interesting. The girl pisses me off with the way she won't listen to her brother, even though he's been her rock for years. And yet will blindly follow Sylar around because he supposedly has GPS-like powers to the professor guy. Like they couldn't just find a phone and call the professor once they got to NY. Yeah, he's dead, but you know what I mean, hmph.

• Caitlin from Ireland. Okay, seriously. Biggest Mary Sue ever. And for some unknown reason, I can't help but adore her. OMG DO NOT JUDGE.

• Claire's boyfriend, Mr. So Boring I Did Not Even Bother Remembering His Name. :| :| :| And I do know not everyone can have a different power, there's got to be some overlap, but his being able to fly had me yawning. Nathan's been there, done that and looked prettier doing it.

• Speaking of Nathan... "I'm not a cargo jet." HEE. Also, the mystery of him having those BBQ!Nathan flashes of his face INTRIGUES ME THE MOST.

• Japan. Much as I adore David as Kensai, I was ready to stab myself with a sword if it went on much longer. :|

• You gotta watch that Hiro. Leave him long enough with a woman and he'll fall in love. The score's 2 - 0 so far, heh.

• Suresh and Matt have no sense of personal space do they? When they talk, they're like, nose-to-nose. The lack of kissing is just plain mean.

• Um. Wouldn't Matt try to listen in on his dad before knocking on the door? The police do that, much less officers who can read minds. Argh. But, omg, I do so love Matt's dad. Actually, I love that just about all the main characters are second generation with their powers.

• How does Matt and Nathan stepping two feet away from someone make a convo private? :|

• There is nothing more visually striking as Noah and The Haitian walking together. They're so the Dynamic Duo. *happy shiver*

• Yeah, suuuure, taking Molly to the Company is a good idea. Nothing bad could happen, nah. Not like you spent any effort getting her out of there. Oh, Suresh. It's hard to make good decisions when Matt insists on being all hot around you, isn't it?

• OMG I REMEMBER DOUBLE DUTCH! :D :D :D

• Peter needs to pant and gasp a lot more plz.

• I totally didn't remember that the baby wasn't Matt's adlfaj. I was thinking he'd had them go into hiding to protect them. Maybe we'll find out later wee!Matt really is his? I want baby to have a power, dammit! :(

• Peter's speshul. All he had to do was stay invisible both in the hospital after dropping Nathan off and later after escaping the Company and none of this would have happened. I know, I know, there would be no ep if he had, but, grr, it's frustrating.

• Elle seriously has a hair fetish alfdja. I'm pretty sure the writers are using her to play out every fangirl's sekrit fantasy to mess with Peter's hair and create sparks. :P

• "You'll get used to it. And then you'll start to like it." Seriously. Love Elle.

• Kensei being named Adam and still alive after hundreds of years is giving me happy Highlander flashbacks to Adam Pierson and Methos and Duncan's 300 years. Anyway! So does this mean Claire will forever be a teenager?

• So, The Company locks Adam up and then puts Peter in the cell right next to him. That... can't be good planning, guys. :| Not to mention that there doesn't seem to be any security cameras in the cells monitoring everything they're saying for months. WTF. The Company has security like 24's CTU. :|

• I'd wonder if The Company purposely let Adam and Peter go if it weren't their own people getting killed.

• I want to yell at Nathan's mom for sending his family away, but I'm not at all sure she didn't do it for his own good. She's a wiley one. Just when you think she's heartless, she shows this incredibly tender side and I love her for those shades of gray.

• And while we're talking about Nathan's family... I wanna know what power his dad had. So far everyone's been 2nd generation powers and I somehow doubt this started at his sons.

• DL as a fireman aldja. I'm not a DL fan at all, but that was perfect and just what Claire woulda done, too. Helping people, yay! Of course, popping out of walls in front of your crew and cameras = not smart kthx. But still, this ep/storyline was the first time I didn't actively yawn when DL was around. :X

• Ditto with Maya and the wedding flashback and her becoming a nun. That fit. I even liked that Alejandro didn't automatically believe his sister didn't poison like, the entire village. :| I mean, dude. All she said was that she didn't trust your new slutty wife. Thanks for thinking she'd TURN INTO A MASS MURDERER. Way to trust, way to trust. :|

• Hey, why didn't the cop in the church get back up after Alejandro helped Maya control her badass self? The surfer in the jail later does.

• Which brings up the question - who exactly are these twins (or their family) and why would slutty!wife go through the trouble of pretending to break up with her boyfriend to marry Alejandro? What did she stand to gain? Hmn.

• DL got shot. :( I was actually sad. Liked the random circumstances of the violence, but why didn't the bullet just pass through him? His fist did. DL wasn't prepared? But, but... he saw the gun! :\

• I've said it before, I'll say it again, Peter. Why not just be invisible when visiting Nathan?

• OMG. Shirtless!Peter running aldfkjas.

• Another reason my love for the Haitian grows and grows - he tried to help Peter, to give him a better life. ♥

• Um. What about the box Peter had on him? The Haitian didn't seem to leave it. And, really, that woulda defeated the purpose of erasing his memory in the first place. *confused*

• "I remember everything." *happy shivers*

Yeah, baby. My show is BACK!

Journeyman

I'm sure my past obsession with Quantum Leap has something to do with it, but I kinda love this show. News reporter suddenly finds himself uncontrollably traveling back in time to make strangers' lives better. I love all the characters and how they interact both in the past and present. We only got that a couple times on QL, but it happens fairly often in JM, the seeing-yourself-in-the-past thing. Overall, the show is fun, but kinda missing that spark, hmm. Basically, I wouldn't cry if I missed an ep or two, but I'll freak if it gets cancelled. They've just started delving more into the mysterious science guy and what he knows about Dan's traveling and things are looking like they're gonna get even more interesting. Okay, anyway, time for bullet points!

• Dan = ♥ The actor, the character, so much love, y'all. He has great chemistry with both Katie and Olivia, not always an easy thing to do on shows like this.

• Zach seeing his dad vanish and dropping the ball akdjasl. SO GOOD. Though I'd think Zach would be asking more questions by now. He's 7, that's like, their job in life.

• It's retarded to keep the Bag O' Money in the same spot AND AT CHILD LEVEL. :|

• I really want Dan to follow Olivia on one her missions. ♥

• Hey, Jack's girlfriend is whatserface from Invasion! Oh, Invasion. I miss you.

• The love... I can't even call it a triangle, it's more of a love square, between this group is wearing kinda thin. But it still interests me. I especially loved when Dan called Katie on the whole 'you want to know if I'm doing Olivia in the past so it will give you permission to do Jack in the present' issue.

• Hey, that's Clark's dad! :D

• I can't decide if Dan and Olivia are way too sheltered for not immediately knowing it was a key party or I'm too jaded for knowing it was. :P

• "I once saw my dad in the shower. I couldn't see colors for 9 days." Ree =

• Oh, Jack, I love you and how you doggedly do your best to protect your little brother from himself, but how are you honestly surprised the FBI would get involved? Your money guy told you that bill was STOLEN MONEY.

• Commercial break: The new PC/Mac commercial bitchslapping Vista makes me giggle uncontrollable. "...but what you can buy for Vista!" These ads never get old. ♥

• Oooh, Langley is back! Hey! Just flashed on X-Files when I typed that - wasn't that the blond Lone Gunmen?! Niiiiiiice reference there.

• I was going to scream if Katie hadn't gotten rid of that money the night before. And she did! Smart girl. :X Of course, we didn't SEE her burn it like Dan said. Heh.

• Jack about Dan, "I got only one brother. He's messed up, but he's not a crook." OH JACK. :X I totally want to slash these brothers aldja.

• I admit, I didn't get the importance of Olivia's picture until Katie and Dan talked at the end. Then I was all cos, omg, SO AWESOME. She's got this old soul, born in the 1910's. She's traveling from the past, he's traveling from the future and they met up in the 90's for this sweet affair lakfdjsa. I got the feeling, tho, from the way that Olivia explained it was that she was stopped traveling so she could go to school, fall in love, in other words = get some life experience to draw upon. And once she had all that and met Dan, who/whatever doing this thought she was "ready" to start up again. But her not knowing the Beatles? She spent nearly 15 years not traveling, I find it hard to believe no one mentioned the big things or she didn't do her own search into "recent" history since she'd starting traveling in all those years while at college etc.

• "Olivia said the trips get longer." Guess she means when she's not shadowing him? Cos her trips are the same length as his when she is and I thought all her traveling was solely to shadow him lately.

• Jack took the twenty! SEE WHY I LOVE JACK! Even though the FBI guy is gonna know he was the one who did it. Then again, FBI guy was dumb enough to leave it there with him, heh.

And this isn't teevee related, but LJ's new Snapshot feature? If it were living, I'd reach into its tiny little chest and rip out its still-beating heart. Dial-up and previewing webpages do not mix, bitch.
